"Scamper" was Jeannine's first Obedience show dog. He was a rescue Toy Manchester Terrier. She began training him when he was 1 1/2 years old. Scamper was very fearful of dogs and people, but he learned very quickly and was a very athletic dog. Scamper's nemisis was the long down. Several "experts" said he'd never get over his fear enough to stay down. Luckily Jeannine didn't listen and after years of hard work finally got him to pass the Open stays! Although frightened, Scamper still scored very well winning all his Novice legs, two of his Open legs and two of his Utility legs. All but his last Utility leg were placements with scores mostly in the mid 190's. Scamper even earned 15th place in the 1991 Eastern Regional in the Open class! Jeannine is very proud of her accomplishments with her Novice A dog. He was a fun dog and will always be special to Jeannine and her family.
